Abacus leads as a progressive employer

May 16, 2022

From product evolution to cutting edge technology, Abacus is leading the way in Gibraltar as a major innovator and investor in the future of its clients and its people.

We have found in recent months that many of our competitors are copying our lead both in terms of how we source business and onboard clients  as well as the opportunities we generate for all our staff, those who’ve been with us for a long time and those who are new to the Abacus family.

But Abacus is also leading the way in matters of diversity and inclusion.

In recent months, Abacus was pleased to announce internally the promotion to the board of two of our distinguished female Associate Directors.

Joanne Rodriguez and Melissa Victory-Penalver both joined the board of Abacus Financial Services Limited on the 1st January 2022. The firm wishes publicly to congratulate them for their achievement in reaching this milestone. Joanne and Melissa bring over 25 years of wisdom and experience each of financial services to the highest level of the firm.

These promotions mean that the gender balance between the executive Directors is now 50-50 with Chris Pitaluga, CEO and Adrian Mansfield, Managing Director making up the rest of the board. Bob Guest remains the firm’s Chairman but becomes a non-executive director from the same date.

Abacus is equally committed to diversity and inclusion across all its staff complement. The firm was recently delighted to sign up as a major sponsor of the Gibraltar LGBTQ+ Pride 2022 event which will take place on the 25th June.

As a progressive employer, Abacus focuses only on the talents, temperament and skills that people bring to the table and nothing else. We hope other firms in Gibraltar emulate us in this as much as in everything else.
