In 2001, Robert Guest became a Tax Partner of PwC, Gibraltar and Director of Abacus. Abacus remained a member firm of PwC until July 2012, when it chose to become independent. Robert was then appointment Chairman of Abacus in 2012, he remains in the same role today.
In 1988 Robert became a Vice President at Credit Suisse (Gibraltar) and in 1998 joined PwC, where he was able to use his expertise in trusts, company management, corporate finance and international tax structuring for the benefit of the firm’s clients.
During his time as Chairman of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Robert also served on the Gibraltar Finance Centre Council and has been closely involved with the development of Gibraltar’s tax system.
Robert graduated in economics from the University College London, is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and is a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
Christopher joined PwC in 1995 from a major bank trust company and became a Tax Partner in 2001 in conjunction with his role as MD of Abacus which, at the time, was a PwC member firm. In July 2012, Abacus chose to become independent and Chris was appointed CEO.
Chris has taken on the responsibility for building the firm’s Family Office capability, involving sophisticated structures such a private trust companies and purpose trusts, in addition to a wider remit for new business development for the firm as a whole.
His specialisation in trusts over the years had led to a number of important high net-worth client engagements for the Firm involving complex multi-jurisdictional structures. Chris enjoys excellent relationships with these clients who have come to regard Abacus as a by-word for trust and quality in a very demanding market-place. The stewardship of these trusts requires direct, personal and on-going involvement with clients and their senior advisers and, in particular, the management of key banking and other professional relationships.
Chris is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (now the Institute of Financial Services) and specialised in the Trustee diploma of the qualification. He is also a Founder Member of the Gibraltar Branch of STEP.
With 20 years international banking experience, Kevin joined Abacus in 2013 to lead a small focused team providing Family Office services to ultra-high net worth individuals.
Kevin’s role expanded in April 2014 when he was appointed to the role of Chief Operations Officer, with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm. He was subsequently appointed a director of the firm in June 2015.
Kevin’s main interests are sport, reading and travel.
Adrian joined Abacus as a Senior Manager in June 2010 and was appointed Director of Abacus in September 2014.
Adrian currently has the overall responsibility for a broad portfolio within Abacus, mainly high net worth individuals with a variety of trust and corporate structures. His role typically includes organising and managing the day to day administration of trusts and companies, liaising with clients and their advisers, as well as the Abacus Board in respect of strategic and management issues.
In 2006, he obtained a Masters in Enterprise Management and later became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Directors and Chartered Management Institute. Just before joining the firm, Adrian was a director of another respected company management firm, where he was responsible for the provision of private client services.
